Balearic House Music

Balearic beats

Balearic beat, better known as Balearic house, Ibiza house, Ibizan chillout or just Balearic is an eclectic DJ blend dance music emerging mid-1980s. It later became the name of a more specific style of electronic dance music that was popular into the mid-1990s.

Balearic house was named for its popularity in European nightclubs and beaches on the Balearic island of Ibiza. Balearic beats is often referred to as “the sound of Ibiza”, even though many other, more aggressive and upbeat forms of dance music can be heard on the island.

Here´s my take on defining balearic beats as a playlist. I will update frequently to keep you up to date on the genre. Please click through to follow the Balearic House music playlist 🙂
